Fibre Basketmakers of the ACT
The Fibre Basketmakers of the ACT are based in Canberra, Australia. The group has been meeting regularly for more than ten years to share basketry skills and knowledge, arrange demonstrations, exhibitions and events, and providing mutual support. Beginners are welcome and when there is sufficient interest, classes can be arranged.
Meetings are at 2-5pm on the second Saturday every month (unless otherwise advised) at the Downer Community Centre, 2 Frencham Place, Downer, ACT. Cumbungi Gathering - Each December, with permission from Territory and Muicipal Services (TAMS), members of the Fibre Basket Makers of the ACT gather Cumbungi from a selected site on one of Canberra's wetland areas or lakes.
Next Demonstration - Hands On at Downer!....Random weave with Muhlenbeckia 14 March. Material will be available.

Next Baketry Gathering - The Baksetmakers of Victoria will host the next Gathering, which takes place every two years in a different location. Its aim is to provide a peaceful, friendly and stimulating residential environment where basketmakers can meet to discuss shared interests and learn from each other.
